What work is subject to Building Regulations control?

If you want to put up a new building or extend or alter an existing one, the Building Regulations will probably apply. They will most likely apply if you change a building’s use. Building Regulations approval is completely different from Planning Permission and it does not mean that if you get one you will automatically get the other.

 

Are you insured to carry out work on my property?

Yes, we have a valid insurance policy that covers public liability and employers liability. This enables us to carry out work whilst being fully insured. If you would like to see a copy of this policy please do not hesitate to ask, you have a right to know.

 

Should we expect a lot of disruption during the build?

As a respected building company we promise that the work carried out to your property will be carried out with the least disruption possible for the job in question. We understand that sometimes a customer may feel uneasy surrounded by debris etc, however we will try our utmost to keep mess at a minimal and we will guarantee that all debris will be removed and tidied once the job is complete.

 

What do we get for our money?

A huge concern for customers using builders is whether they are an honest, loyal and trust worthy team, who will make the customers money go as far as it possibly can. Our aim and intention is to provide all of our customers with such a service and show them exactly where there money is going. We usually do this by giving a customer a monthly balance sheet showing how their money has been used and what has been paid, we find that customers feel more relaxed with this method as it keeps them on track and shows them what they are getting.

 

How long would an extension take to build?

Extensions come in all shapes and sizes so this is hard to say. An average 6mx3m single story extension should be completed in 6-8 weeks. As the project size increases so does the time. We will give an estimated time before commencing work and regular meetings, to keep you updated on the schedule and time remaining on the project.

 

Will you design, supply and fit our new bathroom and kitchen?

Yes, we have a full design service available. We can design, supply and fit any kitchen or bathroom with full professional advice offered at every stage. We can also make bespoke items to suit client’s needs to meet all their requirements.

 

Who will carry out electrical and plumbing works?

We will carry out all plumbing work ourselves by experienced tradesman, however due to regulations we use tried and tested sub-contractors to carry out all Gas and electrical works. We will recommend our own sub-contractors but are happy to work with others if the client would like to use a preferred contractor.
